Where do all the freely stated opinions go?

Or: who claims what against who? Against a crowd of cabaret fans, you don’t have to underpin your claims with arguments, but under oath in front of a judge you’ll have to.



There are many opinions that don’t receive half the attention, and you can’t help but wonder what’s the use of all opinions and rhetoric? Merely relief? Or should there be a system, like a referendum or an election, to make those opinions count? 



As a philosopher, Spinoza proposes to peer through the mist of opinions and confusion and see what really happens, and to discover why some people have more influence than others. Also check out Are all opinions equally good?
